Email Hussameddine

Hussameddine is a PhD student from the mechanical engineering department. He is working on the development of a nano sensor for the detection of DNA traces in any given sample. The length of this DNA chain, if found, is detected experimentally. The research starting point is the manufacturing of a single nano tube with the aid of AFM machine. Then a certain sample is forced to flow through this tube. By applying appropriate interpretations of both electric current and flow velocity, the DNA chain, if present, will be detected and its physical properties will be deduced. The research is collaboration between both the electrical and mechanical engineering departments to develop a biological nano sensor that will have wide applications in the field of health sciences.
