Karthik’s research interest includes smart sensors, implantable biomedical devices based on MEMS and NEMS technologies, wireless communication for bio-sensors and body area networks. He currently works on the integration of Bluetooth and other types of RF modules into a sensor system which can be implanted inside the human body. His long time goal is to build a small sized smart sensor system using NEMS technology which will have the ability to transmit information from inside the human body wirelessly.
