Kyle is a junior majoring in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. His work in the lab is focused around IC chip manufacturing
processes, such as photo lithography and electron beam lithography. He works
with equipment such as the mask aligner and spinner, and use LASICAD to draw
the ciruit schematics. His research interests involve finding ways to develop
faster, more powerful computers, as well as methods of manufacturing that would
allow for significantly cheaper computers.

Lillian Ratliff
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Email Lillian

Lillian's research with the NNC is in the area of Biomedical applications, developing new technology for biosensors and studying material properties such as gold particles for imaging and treatment of cancer cells. More specifically, she is interested in investigating the surface property of coated porous substrate and its interaction with nanoparticles. Moreover, Lillian is enthusiastic about educating and exposing others to nanoscience and nanotechnology efforts. She has given numerous presentations and designed hands-on lab experienments for Las Vegas-based middle and high school students, helping them understanding the complicated world of nanotechnology.

Tan's research interests are in the areas of nano-lithography and microscopy. He specializes in the use of atomic force microscope (AFM) for nanoscale pattern creation and imaging. He also works with students from local schools, hoping to draw more interests to the UNLV nanotechnology program and develop a growing desire to continue work in this area by involving the youth within the local community. Tan maintains and updates this website, for questions and comments regarding this website, please email him here.
